prompt set

In short: A prompt set is the list of realistic customer questions a brand tracks across AI engines to measure visibility and share of voice.

A prompt set is the GEO equivalent of a keyword list. It is the collection of questions you put to each AI engine on a schedule so that visibility, share of voice, position and sentiment can be measured against a stable baseline. Unlike keywords, prompts are conversational and carry context: "which accountant would you recommend for a sole trader in Leeds doing about sixty thousand a year" rather than "accountant leeds".

A good prompt set is:

  • Realistic: phrased the way customers actually ask, including location and situation.
  • Varied in intent: comparison ("best X in Y"), recommendation ("who should I use for"), factual ("how much does X cost"), and brand checks ("is Z any good").
  • Stable: changed rarely, so trends are comparable week to week.
  • Sized to the plan: Starter tracks 30 prompts, Growth 100, Agency 300 across clients, with a 50-prompt add-on available.

During onboarding Seoptist reads your site and suggests a prompt set based on your sector and location, which you then edit. Each prompt is then asked three times per engine every week through official APIs, and results are averaged with a confidence interval. Starting with twenty to thirty well-chosen prompts and expanding is usually better than tracking a hundred generic ones.
