What is a prompt set?
Short answer: A prompt set is the fixed list of questions you put to AI assistants every week to measure visibility, the GEO equivalent of a keyword list.
A prompt set is the list of questions you track. Each week, every prompt in the set is put to every engine you have enabled, several times, and the answers are scored. It is the GEO counterpart of the keyword list in classic rank tracking, with one difference: prompts are full sentences written the way a customer would ask an assistant, not two-word search terms.
A good prompt set is small and deliberate. Examples for a dental practice in Norwich:
- "Who is the best private dentist in Norwich for nervous patients?"
- "Recommend a dentist in Norwich that does Invisalign and roughly what it costs."
- "Is [practice name] in Norwich any good?"
- "Emergency dentist near Norwich open on Saturday."
- "NHS or private dentist in Norwich, which practices take new patients?"
Note the mix: unbranded category prompts (the real test), a branded one (to check accuracy and sentiment), a service-specific one, a location-and-time one and a comparison. One prompt per intent is the rule; variations that a human expert would answer identically add cost without insight.
